It has been great hearing from many of you & knowing all are praying for Curt & me. I'm not sure how some of you found this blog but thanks for keeping in touch.

Things haven't changed with us as they told us at the VA that they wouldn't do anything further until after the new year--not sure how long after. He has been doing okay & we are so thankful to have this home to stay in...amazing how things work out. As I said before, I could never plan this but God knew the whole time!

Trust you will enjoy a blessed New Year--we are expecting great things from our Lord for you, ourselves & our nation. I know we all need a real move of the Holy Spirit.

We had a wonderful Christmas Day with family & friends @ Greg's house. The home where we are staying has 4 bedrooms, the owners, Creiders, went to LA to be with their family & so graciously gave us permission to use the entire house. We have Grayson & Grady's families here with us & they will leave tomorrow (Sunday) for their homes in McAllen, TX & Mobile, AL. Greg & Janna have been extremely busy & haven't gotten their house together yet but we sure had a wonderful time there anyway--thankfully things don't need to be perfect to enjoy each other & celebrate the birth of our wonderful Savior Jesus Christ.

Curt did very fine the whole time. His singing was as strong as usual which is so amazing. Janna's parents & others commented on that. His heart rate is a little high so that causes come concern.

Trust everyone enjoyed Christmas Day--know the weather has been very bad many places.

He got out of the hospital last evening---YEAH! God even had some friends from way back come & offer their home for as long as we need...we are so thankful. They have 4 bedrooms on the main floor so that makes it so nice. We will be staying here until after the new year for sure--too many things going on between now and then.

For those of you who have wondered, we still get mail @ 308 W Oak #5 Sisseton, SD 57262. Where we are here in TX is Spring--north of Houston.

I (we) are believing God for complete healing for Curt & sure appreciate your prayers. God bless, keep & use all of us to further His kingdom.

We got to VA @ Houston 9:45 a.m. & Curt did fine the whole way PTL! We had thought he'd be there for 24 hr observation but they have kept him & plans are for him to be released on Mon. Many other things changed etc. with plans but all is fine.

I haven't been on here to blog since we got here as the VA has no wireless..was disappointing. I just came to motel room to shower etc. so am updating before I go back.

I KNOW God can heal completely & that's what I'm asking for. It is so neat to see him sharing the plan of salvation to the nurses or whoever--making use of the opportunity.

Thanks for your continued prayer & encouraging words. If you want to talk to him, feel free at: 615-430-2417 or the VA # which I don't know!!

I GOT TO SLEEP IN THE BED WITH MY HUSBAND LAST NIGHT--FIRST TIME IN A MONTH, little things mean a lot.

It took some doing & time to get on the road but PTL we made it. David & Esther took us all the way to Mobile, arriving about 11:15 p.m. Curt did very well & we were all so happy. Gave us a long time to visit on the way too. Grayson got a motel room for them, Dr Lee stayed with us in the home so had good covering for Curt as well. This a.m. was great as grandchildren are some of the best medicine ever--all the hugs & kisses are priceless.

MANY thanks for all the prayer & continued prayer. We are so encouraged by that.

Yesterday was a good day. Friends came from a ways away, friends we have known for several years. It is always good to get together & enjoy christian fellowship.

Also a friend from Baton Rouge, Dr Lee , flew in to be with us & will go with all the way to Houston, TX---how blessed we are. Sure appreciate her husband who allowed her to go for these days, leaving him in charge of their 3 children...WOW!

We didn't know for sure until 10:30 p.m. that they would not dismiss Curt yesterday so we could catch the Avalon bus & go to Nashville then on to TX on Wed. Made for stress for sure. They have given him coumadin & wanted numbers to be at a certain level etc.

UNLESS THINGS CHANGE, Kjosas will take us to Mobile, AL tomorrow sometime, we'll stay @ Grayson's, the bus will come through Wed night & take us on to Houston from there.

I am glad that I know in whom I have believed & am persuaded that HE will work all things for good to those who love Him. We certainly love Him.

Well, things have changed & the one doctor says he isn't going to release Curt until certain numbers straighten out. We had trusted they would have by this a.m. but they didn't so now things are up in the air again. I guess we can make a plan with information we receive & if things change, we just have to adjust. It has been a rather roller coaster ride again but I guess we should get used to that after all these years on the road!?!?

We can't thank the Lord enough for Himself & for the many friends & family that are praying for us at this time. It is so encouraging.

He finished his last radiation treatment this a.m. 2 of the Doctors said he could be dismissed on Sunday so that is the plan. We are SO thankful for the great progress he has made through the touch of the Lord & the work of the doctors! This hospital is owned or run by the 7th Day Adventist people & many of the workers are believers in Jesus Christ & that makes the atmosphere so much better.

Will let you know how the transport process will take place when we get out. If it goes as planned now, it is quite amazing. We plan & plan & God knows the whole time--He is definitely awesome!!

They took Curt out of ICU & put him in a regular room around 11:00 p.m. last night. He has been without oxygen all day today. We feel that is quite amazing being he was on 10 liters just about 4 days ago! There have been mentions of dismissing his this weekend sometime even although that isn't certain.

All in all we praise God for His touch! Thanks for your continued prayer. Will post more as I know more.

We received some encouraging reports today so are thanking Jesus for that. The fluid they took off his lung had NO cancer cells! Sounded like they really didn't expect to find any but it is always good to know for sure so Thank you Jesus!

He had his 7th radiation treatment this p.m. & they said he would have 3 more & be done--that sounded encouraging as well. Curt felt pretty good today & as they were taking him down for the treatment on the gurney, he was doing his usual jokes/story-telling & using a little German accent. We got on an elevator & a Dr from Korea was on with us & asked if he could do Korean. Curt started saying words in Korean to him, sang a Korean love song as we went down the corridor with the Dr joining in with him smiling from ear to ear! Wish I could have had a video, it was soo good! Everybody around us was smiling big time! Nurse Melissa was totally enjoying it. Seems that many of his caregivers love having him as a patient--for good reason I might add!

They did a swallow test on Curt this a.m. & found everything okay. Guess he just has to be more careful when he swallows maybe! They also gave him another radiation treatment this p.m. & we don't know how many they want to do. Have gotten no results from the fluid taken from his lung yet.

He had a good rest after his treatment & looks & feels better tonight. We thank God for His provision & touch. Unsure yet how long our stay here will be.

Thanks for your encouraging comments & prayers.

They did the 5th radiation treatment yesterday & also drained over a quart of fluid from his lung. I had hoped that that would allow them to turn down his oxygen but hasn't so far. They have him on 10 liters to keep him @ 92.

Grayson & family went back to Mobile yesterday but were able to bring the kids in before they left so that was great.

This a.m. Curt swallowed pills, got one stuck & began to fade out. The nurse looked at the monitor & it straight-lined & the room was filled with nurses etc. They called code blue. That was about 9:00 a.m. That has happened to him at different times while eating & he always comes out of it & he did again this time-thankfully. What that did was cause them to do some testing on his swallowing process which they have begun & will do more in depth on Mon.

Thankful for good friends who have come to be with us, Esther will be here some days. We are so thankful for our family & friends. We will believe the report of the Lord which is always GOOD. His ways are past finding out!

Thursday, December 3, 2009

The Doctor came in this a.m. & used the work "aggressive" to describe Curt's cancer. That did not make for the happiest day of our lives but I (we) still choose to believe the report of the Lord. I know that His Word is forever established in heaven & I (we) will ALWAYS believe it!!

They didn't do the draining of the fluid today as planned--got too busy or something I suppose. They plan to do it tomorrow in p.m. I guess now.

I went to Grayson's place where they're staying & slept for 2 hrs in p.m. today otherwise I have been at the hospital most of the time. Thanks for your calls/prayers--there's much power in united prayer, PTL!

Curt has had a couple good days in a row, nights too-PTL! The bone scan showed a spot on the right hip but they don't know if it is arthritis or what. Also a small spot in left lung--unsure of what that is too.

They have found fluid on or around the lung & also a blood clot perhaps attached to the tumor. They have hesitated giving him a thinner because of the bleeding he had. There has been no sign of more bleeding tho so PTL for that.

They did radiation treatment yesterday & will do more each day this week. They plan to drain the fluid in the morning. We pray that that goes well & that they can get more info from that test. Also that the tumors shrink & even disappear--Nothing is impossible to them that believe & I know we ALL believe!
